Nice! What's How old is the black model?

I have a 1967 Olympia Socialite that my 12 year-old niece is eager to test drive. I might give it to her if she promises to take good care of it.

Made in the thirties - I can look up the exact year of manufacture based on the serial number, but I don't have that with me today. It was a pretty stripped-down, depression-era model, but still loks mighty pretty.

Definitely give it to her. Kids love these things, for some reason.

The Corona Junior was made from 1934-1940. The Model S entered the line in 1937.

I'm jealous of your camera. I especially love that close-up shot of the Junior.

Amen to the camera -- soooo much better than trying to pick out the Family Moon from crappy kid-cam shots. Money well spent, Duffy.

I assume you're referring to Mrs. Moon's camera. Not mine. Just, you know, borrowing it. Because she was busy typing.

Nice Duffy, very nice shots. Very kid friendly typers as well, I must say. Just what typewriter day should be. Showing the younger generations the ways of the typewriter. Someday when they grow older they will remember these days, hopefully it will inspire them to write with typewriters as well.

So these pictures actually make me want to play with a typewriter, which is not something I've felt since I was 9.

I met a woman a couple of weeks ago who had a collection of over 40 typewriters. Does that sound like excess to you, or perfectly sensible? I wonder.

I call that a good start. :-)

Sensible if there's room. Excessive if not. That would be a bit much for me to easily absorb in my home.
I'd like to try, but I don't see my wife allowing that.

What a perfect way to spend Typewriter Day, Duffy. Those pictures are priceless.

Kids and typewriters are a natural.

Well, that wasn't the entirely of Typewriter Day. We also had fresh raspberry cobbler, courtesy of Mrs. Moon. Sadly it disappeared before the camera came out.
