Three Great Tastes that Taste Awesome Together
So, Land of the Lost is now a Major Motion Picture.

Suh. Weet.

How awesome was that old television show? I've got three words:
Claymation.
Dinosaurs.
Banjos.

Will Hollywood kill the awesomeness? Remains to be seen. Will Ferrell frequently makes my tummy hurt with teh laffs, but will it be an awkward fit?

Rumor has it the banjo-infused theme song will be utilized. Double sweet.

The preview looks pretty good. It's kind of hard to overly-camp something that was pretty campy to begin with. The dinos aren't claymation, but hey, I can live with that.

Even *if* the movie isn't that good or true to the original series, I don't hold "LotL" in such a high pantheon that I will gnash my teeth and rent my clothes over it. It was an awesome kids' show, but a bad remake wouldn't be like someone throwing ketchup on the Mona Lisa.

...but I was a Filmation kid growing up. I don't think I was ever exposed to the old Sid & Marty Krofft shows (including LotL) until I was too old and cool to watch something so obviously camp.

[Cue Sharks vs. Jets knife fight]

When TVLand re-ran some of these shows a couple of years back, it was a complete head-melter. Liddsville... H.R. Puf'N'Stuf... just exactly what substances were being ingested back then? And then I see something like this...

Since December, Vinnie Rattolle has been running an ongoing Krofftapalooza series dedicated to everything Krofft. The guy has managed to unearth material I'd never even heard of. Try to prevent your head from exploding until you hit the Brady Blowout Edition.
